Support Worker

About the Role

Advocare Australia is seeking passionate Disability Support Workers to join our Talent Pool in Adelaide and surrounding areas.
In this role, you’ll follow a strengths-based, person-centred approach to help people with disability live more independently, build life skills, and connect with their community.
You’ll play a vital part in creating safe, positive home environments while forming strong, respectful relationships with participants, their families, and the wider community.

Support worker

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care – including showering, grooming, and dental hygiene

  • Assist with household tasks – such as cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping

  • Transport clients to appointments, community events, and recreational activities (travel allowance provided)

  • Support community participation – helping clients engage in social and skill-building activities

  • Follow Care Plans and complete required tasks as directed

  • Monitor and report on client progress, wellbeing, and any health or safety concerns

 

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Aged Care

  • Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) & CPR (HLTAID001)

  • Current Manual Handling Certificate

  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable car with Comprehensive Insurance

  • Current National Police Check

  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee Type)

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
